New Beginnings

Nothing makes us more excited than to see our dogs find their new people! Here are some pictures of our angels with the people they have adopted!

Remember, you are the ones who help us make this happen, either by opening your heart & home or with your financial support!!

Do you have pictures and/or stories of dogs you've adopted from us? We'd love to show them here! Send them to us at contact@thedogangels.com

Charlotte

If you're wondering why she looks a little wet in these pictures, she is! Charlotte was so ecstatic to meet her new family that when she found the pool, she dived right in and swam a victory lap before getting out to run around some more!

Then she came inside and made herself at home on the couch as though she'd lived there her whole life. Charlotte will be missed by us at Dog Angels but we're thrilled that she found the perfect home for her.

Itsy

Itsy went to a great home where two of our other previous residents now live. Katie (Little Lady), and Rosalita (Silly Girl) were racing around in excitement!

Dimaggio

Paco, formerly know as Dimaggio, was adopted on Wednesday (Sept 19, 2007). He is the love of my daughter's life. Paco follows her every where she goes and he almost never has to walk (she carries him like a baby). He sleeps next to her under the covers and picked out his Halloween costume today. Attached you will find a picture of the two of them. He cannot stop kissing her as you can see!

Rags to Riches All alone on a country road, on foot (all four of them), this two year old Flat Haired Retriever may have met the wrong end of a car bumper if we had not come along. Molly came to live at the Sanctuary that day. And I'm very grateful for that since I then had the chance to adopt her.

Within a few days of bringing her home, it became obvious she was a special canine. She had a quiet and gentle nature, a smile, and lots of licks and wags. She takes trips to the local park twice a day to answer Nature's Call. The best part of the trip is when she can dash to the end of the long lead and chase squirrels and rabbits. She clearly rules the park, even though it is pretty clear the squirrels and rabbits all know just how long her lead is and where to stand to tease her. In her mind, she is Mistress of the Park.
i just wanted to let you know that bat is doing great!!!!!! he still sleeps with me every night and he's our special little boy. he has grey hair on the top of his head, his snout, and his neck. we love him. he just got his rabies vaccination and is still really frisky and runs around a lot.

Bobo

Thanks so much you Angels are the best ! Bodacious and I are best of friends it really seems like we have known one another for ever. He has just naturally fit in to my life like our friendship was meant to be...His fluid control is astounding no potty in the house ever he has even gone so far as to travel to the furthest reaches of the yard for his waste management (amazingly intelligent). The guy follows me everyplace I go with honest intent and curiosity. Its hilarious how he too loves fresh veggies while we work in the garden consuming tomatoes, bell peppers and even carrots just as I do myself ! Barking is seemingly unknown to Mr. Bo ( ? ) kinda nice but barking wouldn't be any problem if he decided to do so its all good ! Enclosed are a few photos of Senior Bodacious with my terrific nephew Robert and my wondrous sister Magi they were taken a week ago or so...also included are a few photos of the kick back getting some all important rest Bo that I know all to well...he loves to run and play but he takes his downtime very serious I must say ! Best friend ever ! Thank you so much for making our union possible !

He is sound asleep in both photos...he as you may have noted has taken a liking to the living room couch...but he really does find it easy to get comfortable nearly anywhere in the house or out in the yard...he hasn't tried the disappearing act ever...guess he likes hanging out 'round these here parts.

I too want to put in my two cents.... thanks SO much for everything. You know Bo IS perfect for our family! It is amazing, it really does feels like we have always known him. And he brings such joy everywhere he goes, he is such a happy and funny little guy, I don't know if words can even convey how blessed we feel to have him in our family! Thank you again!

Blessings, Magi

When Foster becomes Forever
It was a usually hot day in Burbank. The 1 year old female German Shepherd was tied to a fence on a short lead. She was miserable. We got her free, calmed down, and cooled off with some drinking water. That was the beginning of a new life for Allie. She became part of a family that lived in a townhouse in Burbank. She had the run of the place, including lots of trips to the "off-leash" dog park. Allie blossomed as a gentle lady with a penchant for helping to clear the table (if you forgot). She had a love-filled life thanks to the Dog Angel's effort to match her to a family with a collective heart big enough to absorb all the love she had to give.
In less than a year with us, she became sick and extensive vet tests revealed that some of her organs were abnormally small and had become overworked in her short life. It was devasting to everyone but we are grateful to have been able to share her love and life.
